When mathematics and biology come together, something amazing happens.

Biology and mathematics can benefit a lot from each other. From modelling the development of organisms to predicting the future of ecosystems. This is not only interesting and enlightening, often it also produces very beautiful images.

In The Art of Theoretical Biology, 25 of these images are on display. Scattered through Leiden you will find beautiful images of, for example, blood vessel networks and the waves that make our hearts beat.
