Top scientists that change the world with their extraordinary discoveries

Meet the top international scientists who have been awarded the Heineken Prizes of 2020 and 2022

During Great Minds Exposed, a FREE two-day live event consisting of multiple inspiring lectures, you will have the opportunity to get a glimpse into the minds of the top international scientists of our time, like Robert Zatorre, who demonstrated that music acts on our reward system in the same way that food and sex do, or Carl Folke, who is at the forefront of influential concepts such as the ecological footprint.

What do their milestones mean for other scientists and for our society? What challenges did they face and what obstacles did they overcome? And what drives them to give their all every day for fundamental science?

Join this event and you will discover the answers to these questions!

Meet the following great minds

09:30 - 10:00: WALK-IN

10:00 - 10:25: Robert Zatorre, Professor of Neuroscience at McGill University and pioneer that sets the tone for scientific approach to music. Zatorre made ground-breaking discoveries about how to enjoy music and how music acts on our reward system.

10:25 - 10:45: Lorraine Daston, Director emerita of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and influential on the concepts of truth and objectivity. Daston offers new perspective on the origins of the scientific community.

10:45 - 11:00: BREAK
