The Leiden World Walks let you discover many things about Leiden; about the languages and cultures that are being studied here and about the many hidden and not-so-hidden histories.

During this walk, you'll get to see moments, people and buildings in Leiden's history that have to do with Africa. From the Lakenhal, where the Dutch judged the textiles they used to trade for West-African slaves, to the awarding of a honoray doctorate to Nelson Mandela. This walk was put together by the Africa Studies Centre Leiden.

The walk takes about 90 minutes in total.
