How does a microscope make the invisible visible? Help build a Lego microscope and find out!
Did you know that the microscope was invented by a Dutchman? Antoni van Leeuwenhoek made the very best microscopes back in the 17th century. Today, on his 390th birthday, you get to imitate him. Because we are going to build microscopes… from Lego!
This afternoon we also have other microscopes with us to explore with. Very old ones like Antoni's, and brand-new ones that we are using in modern research. Would you like to investigate something yourself or take a closer look? Be sure to bring something to put under the microscope!
Are you between the ages of 8 and 15 and want to participate in building the microscopes? Sign up for one of the sessions using this form. Sessions will take about an hour.
