Leiden European City Of Science, the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision and Leiden Shorts Film Festival are inviting film enthusiasts to celebrate the art of analogue film. Tactile Memory- The Revival of Analogue Filmmaking on Saturday 11 June.

The event consists of two sessions that can either be joined separately or together for the total experience. The morning session is an edit-a-thon with a focus on the ways we share and sustain knowledge about analogue filmmaking. In the afternoon there will be a lively panel discussion between filmmakers and archivists where they’ll take a deep dive into the practice of working with analogue film in our current digital era. Our panellists will discuss their experiences and creative choices, and we’ll connect those to a broader trend of the revival of analogue film in the last few years. We will round off the day with drinks and the space to reflect on analogue film with creators whose work is part of the festival.

Join us on Saturday 11 June at the Stadsbouwhuis in Leiden for an experience where new and old technologies meet.
