LS&H - Global Impact in Health Symposium
- Leiden Bio Science Park
The scientific part of the LSH week will be officially opened on Monday 30 May with the Global Impact in Health Symposium.
During this symposium we will discuss the importance of international academic, public and private partnerships in solving the greatest global health threats of our time.
Leiden is internationally recognized as an essential hub for Life Sciences & Health with its large concentration of companies in the Leiden Bio Science Park and several internationally acclaimed research institutes, among which key player the Leiden University Medical Center. How do we make sure that research and innovations from Leiden have real global impact? How can we create an environment that is conducive for interaction between academic, public and private partners here, and most importantly, around the world? How do newer research fields such as regenerative medicine and advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) cope with these challenges compared to traditional global health fields such as infectious diseases and vaccines? These are some of the questions we will navigate through during a programme full of diverse inspiring speakers.
Time: 10.00 - 16.30 hrs
