“Always look on the bright side of life… doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo.” Today humour takes centre stage in the scientificalamusing capital of the Netherlands. Why is laughing healthy? Humour illuminates and brings people together. But we also use humour when we are very sad or stressed to process and bury things. We laugh at things that are objectively not funny. Sometimes for our own good, sometimes to make someone else feel better. At the same time, one person can find something funny while the another cringes with shame on their behalf. Humour is subjective.
