CORAL
This is a story about coral. While many of you probably know that coral is, in fact, an animal (not a plant), much less is known about the role that coral plays in the life of the average person. Although jewellery has been made from this animal for centuries, its function in the ocean is even more beautiful. Unfortunately, coral is fragile. It consists of hundreds of polyps that can be easily thrown out of balance. Whether it’s a slight drop or rise in the temperature of seawater or a decrease in certain types of algae, climate change can majorly disrupt the growth of coral. How long before thousands of fish become homeless?
