SPORT
"It's pretty, isn't it, old sport?" The term "old sport" appears no less than 45 times in The Great Gatsby. Pretty often for a story that’s only 208 pages long! For Jay Gatsby, “old sport” refers to gentlemen and old money. While some sports are still associated with posh men and money, sport is often about much more. After all, polo does not have the same reputation as football. While a specific aesthetic associated with sport isn’t meaningless, the most important thing is that sport keeps you healthy and moving — whether it's chess, curling, hockey, or wheelchair basketball.
