SOIL
A base is very important. Without a base, all the chocolate milk would fall out of your mug! However, the base under our feet is also fundamental. That base determines how to build houses and determines what kind of food you can grow. Poor soil can therefore have disastrous consequences. Buildings could collapse and food and water shortages could occur. Soils are therefore constantly monitored by environmental and climate experts. After all, what happens if it gets much wetter or drier?
