What makes black black? Everyone who wears a lot of black clothes can tell you that not every black is the same. Sometimes it seems darker, lighter, more dull or more bright. But a black hole? That is truly black. A black hole is a place in space where gravity is so incredibly strong that particles and waves (including light) cannot escape from it. This means that black holes are dark, black, and a bit scary. However, they also form the centre of many different starsystems.
