EEL
Eels aren’t fashionable in English speaking countries. Maybe you’ll find an eel dish from the UK with its roots in the 1700s or the 1800s (jellied eels, Richmond eel stew, and eel pie come to mind), but the average American, Australian, New Zealander, Indian, or Irishman, won’t really know what you’re talking about. Meanwhile, the Dutch, the Japanese, the Italians, and several other people love eels. This long fish can grow up to a metre and travels from salt to freshwater and back again.
