Nothing. Empty. White. Blank. A blank sheet of paper has a lot of potential. A drawing can appear, or some writing, or some snot — after which it’s thrown in a trash can. A blank also refers to a blank test in science. For example, in colourimetry, a blank is an object that contains all substances except the substance under investigation. White is all the colours of light combined. If you think about it, this means that blankness is both a combination of everything and a starting point that hasn’t reached its full potential.
