Aprons seem to be less popular than they used to be. An apron used to be a sign for the people around you. What kind of job do you do? What’s your social status? Is it meant as protection, an accessory, a bag or a dust cloth? Now, aprons are associated with restaurants and housewives. But not every apron is the same. Welders and glassblowers do not wear the same aprons as maids. Those aprons both have a very different (gendered) connotation in our society. Still… aprons can be very useful for anyone of any gender.
