When people hear ‘artificial intelligence’ they usually think about robots that can think for themselves. That’s partly true, but the first kind of AI probably won’t be like Wall-E or Chappie. The first functional form of AI is more likely to be an algorithm or chatbot. Besides, it’s kind of hard to determine what ‘intelligence’ really is. Let alone what ‘artificial intelligence’ means. Is the algorithm that determines what you see on social media already intelligent enough? And do we even want a more intelligent form of technology?
