We’re stronger together, right? The idea behind a democracy is that the opinion of the majority counts, and therefore the least amount of people will be unhappy. In practice, that doesn’t usually work out that way though. The biggest party within a government usually isn’t big or broad enough to represent the opinions of the majority of a country. The opinions within a country are just too different from each other for that to be the case. Who is allowed to participate in a democracy also differs per era and region.
